I had a grade 2 separation in my right AC joint, but where i'd beaten my torso about a lot before, i pretty much sprained the entire back and front of my body from bottom the both collarbones upwards, so both shoulders were a bit f*cked. Had all movement back in left arm after about a week, complete movement in right arm after abut 2 and a half weeks, by which stage i could ride on roads around town, but didnt get back offroad until about 6 or 7 weeks, and had to take it real easy to start with, and sharp jarring movements, say like yanking the front end up over a rock/log hurt for about the first month of riding.
this might help...

Dude get a teraband-big rubber band-and do shoulder exercises. i had a phase three seperation and i saved myself from surgery by rigorous physical therapy. I was road biking in 3 weeks and dirt jumping in two months.
